SUSTAINABILITY
At Fanti Packaging, sustainability is not a buzzword, it is a tangible commitment that guides our every action. We are very conscious that our role in the packaging industry places us in a position of responsibility towards the environment and future generations. That is why our approach to sustainability is multifaceted, spanning the following areas:
Innovation in materials and production efficiency: we invest constantly in research and development to seek out new eco-compatible materials. Our goal is to decrease the environmental impact of our products, while maintaining the quality and safety standards we are known for. To achieve this, we have implemented cutting-edge production processes that optimise our use of resources and reduce waste, significantly reducing our environmental footprint.
- As well as being hygienic and reliable, our metal packaging is eco-sustainable as its CO2 emissions are the lowest of all and it is completely recyclable. The packaging we produce here at Fanti Packaging falls within the “Metal Recycles Forever” materials and heads the ranks in the recycling rates. For more information click ANFIMA
- We are proud producers of hybrid cans combining plastic and metal which were originally patented by Polibox Italiana. Now a key part of our Fanti Plast business unit, Polibox Italiana’s experience in plastic injection moulding led them to invest in the research that would result in this innovative solution for the industry.
Circular economy: we actively promote the concept of circular economy, designing our packaging to be easily recyclable or reusable.
- Eco-Rivest is the environmentally friendly bag we insert into our buckets to ensure total recycling and it was patented by Polibox Italiana, which is now a core part of our Fanti Plast business unit. It is made of a highly scratch-resistant polylaminate or PE-only film that isolates the product (paints and coatings) from the external container and the lid, reducing hazardous waste by 85%. The insertion process is carried out in our plant and is completely automatic.
- PET coating: this is an innovative lamination technology through which a thin layer of PET is applied directly to the metal to protect the inside of the can and, where necessary, also the outside. It is used to achieve at three main goals: to replace internal and external solvent paints (anchors and enamels) with thin layers of PET; to reduce environmental impact, eliminating the use of natural gas and significantly limiting VOC emissions; to improve can protection, preventing corrosion of the metal and ensuring greater chemical resistance.
- The use of steel in our metal products is fundamental for the sustainability of the planet, as it is an infinitely recyclable material. Our involvement in activities promoted by the Ricrea Consortium demonstrates our commitment to environmental sustainability. To find out more, take a look at the Ricrea Consortium page.
Environmental labelling: we have developed a complete guide to environmental labelling for all our packaging items. This tool helps our customers navigate the complex world of environmental legislation, guaranteeing them the utmost transparency and compliance.
